The Stanley Academy is a specialized English language institution
located in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada). We offer
classes in Medical English, which includes instruction in Medical
Terminology and English for clinical settings, as well as preparatory
classes for Medical licensing exams (Medical Council of Canada Exams –
MCCEE & MCCQE I & II, as well as USMLE Step I, II and III) and the
Canadian Registered Nurses Exam. We also can arrange for you to have
hands-on experience in your field of training through a shadowing
experience/internship program. Our classes are small, our courses
intensive, our instructors are all trained medical professionals, and
the overall atmosphere is personalized, friendly and conducive to
learning.
Our instructors have compiled
their experience teaching clinical skills to develop an exceptional
textbook for the instruction of foreign medical professionals
detailing how to take a patientfs medical history. It is a unique,
step-by-step guide of the patient interview process. It incorporates
clinical scenarios that offer you the chance to practice taking a
focused history for many common diseases, or symptom presentations.
Example questions and replies allow you to see what both the doctor
should ask, and common patient responses. This is a very useful
instruction guide for medical professionals who wish to interact with
English speaking patients.
We have begun using this textbook in all our classes and have received
only positive feedback from our students. We are now making this textbook
available for purchase by the general public. Please email us at
info@stanleyacademy.ca to order your copy.
